Look what’s happening in America today, crisis after crisis, and it’s on the News all day long. First, the housing and mortgage crisis, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac being bailed out, Lehman Brothers Bank, and now AIG, a trillion-dollar bail out. We thought it was bad when the price of gas went up, but it’s nothing compared to where we are headed. They want to push through a health care bill that will cost over a trillion dollars. According to polls the majority of Americans do not want this healthcare bill. Nevertheless it is being forced down our throats. It's like they are going to force us to take it because they know better. They think that once they have rammed it through that we'll all realize what a good thing it is and we'll be so thankful that they forced us to take it. What arrogance!  We are trillions and trillions of dollars in debt and they tell us that the solution is to "spend our way out." What stupidity!   Anyone with a lick of sense knows that when you are tight on money that you pull in your belt and cut down on spending. We don't want to face the fact that we are on the verge of a complete, worldwide, economic crash, and no one knows how we got here or what to do to fix it. Is there any way out? Who will save us?

Maybe you’ve heard the old story about the frog? They say if you drop a frog into a pot of boiling water that it will immediately jump out, but if you place the frog in a pot at room temperature and gradually raise that temperature, the frog will actually sit there until it boils to death. We are boiling to death here in America, and we don’t even know it. Right now, it’s a spiritual death, but the physical death is usually only a short distance behind. You may laugh and think that what I’m saying is a bit extreme, but I’ll tell you how I got there.

America was a country pioneered and colonized primarily by those seeking a place where they could freely worship God. Because they were seeking God, He brought them here, blessed and prospered them in all that they put their hand to, until America became the greatest, most powerful, most admired and respected country on the face of the earth. God made America great! It was faith in Him and His blessing upon this country that made us what we were. I say “were” because we are no longer what we once were, and we are now going down faster than we rose; and here’s why.

According to polls, 80 per cent of Americans claim to believe in God. That may include many faiths, but it would be safe to say that the majority claim to be Christians or Judeo Christian in belief. As such, we are supposed to believe what’s written in our book, the Bible. We are supposed to believe that it is the inspired Word of the Creator of the Universe, the Alpha and The Omega, The Beginning and The End.

Over the last 60 years, we have thrown God out of our public schools. We don’t allow our children to pray or even observe moments of silence in our public schools because, of course, they could be praying to God. We no longer teach our children that the very first verse in the first chapter of the Bible says, “In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Instead, we teach them in all of their textbooks and in class that there was a “Big Bang” billions of years ago. Then, a protein crept in on the back of a crystal that somehow managed to escape from a primordial slime pit; and after millions and millions of more years everything on our planet just slowly evolved into what it now is and the longer scientists make the process--the more millions and millions of years they add to it--the better it sounds, and the less likely anyone is to challenge it. Of course, this reduces mankind to nothing more than a slightly more-evolved animal with no spirit, no soul; thus, we are no better than an animal. So some scientists conclude that we are just that,  animals! There is no God! There is no afterlife and no accounting for how one lived here in this life. The water is hotter! Can you feel it?


Those Christian pioneers who founded our country would not recognize what we have become today. To date, in America, we have killed nearly 50-million babies through abortion. Those of generations past would not have thought of doing such a thing. Why? Because, those who believe the Bible, are taught in Psalm 127:3,5  “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. ..blessed is the man that has his quiver full.”  Children were thought to be a reward. There are many other verses in the Bible that tell of God’s blessing in having children.

There is a striking contrast between the women in this country who choose life, as opposed to those who favor death to babies in the political name of “choice,” or the latest description in the politically correct arena is “reproductive freedom.” What a travesty! God says it all in Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV): “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN (even the little one in your womb!) may live.”  It seems to me that in this verse it's kind of like an open book test that God is giving and he is telling everyone in that verse the answer to the test, "choose life."


Look at what Hollywood has been producing, and over the years it gets steadily worse and worse. Look at what’s on TV! You can tell a lot about people by what they consider entertainment. Folks of the older generation remember a time when everything was wholesome, and had good lessons, and left you with a warm feeling. Families would gather around the television set together and watch the old black-and-white TV shows that actually taught moral lessons and would leave you inspired. Our spirits long for those days, but they are gone.

Maybe you have noticed, as I have over the years, that so many of Hollywood’s people are becoming less and less godly and dare I say it? more like the Devil himself. We've got some wicked folks in Hollywood. There used to be some pretty good role models back in the day. Just look at all the movie stars that served in the miliary during WW2. They loved their country and were willing to lay down their lives and careers to fight for it. A lot of the celebreties today run down our country when it is our very way of life which has given them their riches and fame. These people are not smart! They are not intelligent! These folks are merely actors and actresses and many have serious character flaws which is why there is a whole industry built upon watching their every move.  What are the children of this generation looking up to and emulating?  Some of these Hollywood people are just plain downright wicked. Because of this, they are leading many astray into choosing values that are based on nothing of any substance, fame and fortune, and certainly  there are little or no standards of moral decency.

Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Today, good things are spoken of as evil. If young teens wear promise rings vowing to remain chaste until marriage, they are criticized, jeered and called names. We are become more like Sodom and Gamorah.

Thank God for those in celebrity who are willing to stand up against these attacks but they are precious few.

Look at the way the Press and those on the Left are treating Sarah Palin, just because she is a Christian--a God-fearing woman who kept a down-syndrome baby when, today, 9 out of 10 are aborted. Of course, she is pro-life, and that’s another reason for those on the Left to hate her. "She has five children! She lives way up their in Alaska, she is a born again Christian that reads and believes the Bible, she actually goes out hunting with a gun and shoots animals to feed her family. How could we ever have a woman like this as a national leader?"  I believe that’s just what America needs--a very Christian President with obvious love and campasion and the wisdom that only comes from above. We've tried everything else! Why not a God fearing woman? We couldn't do any worse than we are doing right now!

Have you noticed over the past 30 years that it has become increasingly popular to demean, ridicule, and malign Christians in the press and in the movies. I wonder if it started this way back in Rome. Maybe at first it was just joking or talking badly about them, and then it gradually turned into feeding them to the lions or using them as human torches. Is it possible that they will again someday be hunted and persecuted just at they were in the days of Rome. Jesus himself said it, when his disciples asked him what it would be like at the end of the world. In Matthew 24:9 (NIV), Jesus said of Christians, “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.” 

As far as the "Left" versus "Right", isn’t it interesting what Jesus said in Mathew 25:33,  “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” He goes on to describe those on the right as those who care for the poor, visit the prisons, feed the hungry, etc. Have you ever in your life seen an atheist group sending missionaries to other parts of the world to help the poor. Or have you seen them here setting up places where the poor can come for relief? No, you haven't!  But you can find millions of Chrisitan groups the world over that give and give and give again. We just had this big earthquake in Hatii and they expect that there have been as many as 250,000 people killed. Who goes to the rescue? What country on the face of the earth goes to the aid of the poor and needy or those facing disaster? You got it, the USA. And why do they do that? It's because of our Christian heritage. Because it's the right thing to do. It's what Jesus would do. If it was up to the non believers we'd be just like the rest of the countries of the world who send a token jesture but when the chips are down what do you think of a country like China who has a 2 trillion dollar surplus and at first only pledged a million dollars. Or how about the muslim country of Saudia Arabia who pledged absolutely nothing. There's the muslims at their finest! How big of them. Why don't they do more? Because they are not a Christian nation and they are not guided by Christian principles and if it's true that "God is Love" than where is He in those countries?

The real problem, America, is that we have “forgotten God.” We are not going to get the healing we need until we turn around or are destroyed, just as Psalm 9:17 says.

Tthe Bible says in Psalm 9:17 “The Wicked Shall Be Turned Into Hell And All The Nations That Forget God”  We in America have a heritage. Our nation was founded on the principles in the Bible. We were a Christian nation, a nation that sought God for guidance and direction. Our Founding fathers called upon God in desperate prayer, and He came through for them in marvelous ways. But, we have forgotten God and have steadily, gradually, become a nation that is filled with wickedness, a nation that no longer looks to God; and, because of that, He cannot bless us and if we don't have a real turn around He will allow us to be “turned into hell!” --and the sad thing is we will do it to ourselves.


2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Do you think it’s possible? I don’t know that it’s going to happen without the pressure being put on us. God has been trying for years to get us to turn around. He’s been speaking through people like Billy Graham and many others. Has it done us any good? Obviously not as much good as those who preached this message would have hoped. However, it is not the job of a messenger or a prophet to bring the change. He does not speak for audience response. He only gives the message, and it’s up to the people what they do with it. What will we do with it?

Our new president has not brought any real change we can believe in. Instead he is spending like never before. He told us that there was going to be transparency. He said that we would see the debate over Healthcare on C-Span. He said that he would post all bills on the net 5 days before they were signed so that all Americans would be able to read them. Instead what we have seen from him is that they have held meetings in the dark of the night and behind closed and locked doors. They have bribed senators to get their votes making them no better than common whores. Where is the "change we can believe in?" Just another politician. But America voted him in. Yes, the left wing media was right there in the tank for him. They promoted him and in the end the American people bought the whole thing. It reminds me of a saying I once heard, "A wicked people deserve a wicked king."  

I’m going to end here and say, “God help us! Please dear Lord. Help us to turn around, to see the error of our ways. Help us as a nation to make the changes you want us to make, whatever it takes.”
