![]() I was watching the O’Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel just a couple months before the 2004 Election. A prominent Baptist minister from Oklahoma, Rev. Johnson, was telling Bill O’Reilly that “according to statistics 3 out of 4 Fundamentalist Christians did not vote in the 2000 election.” I was shocked and outraged! How could so many Christians sit down and do nothing and thereby allow the forces of evil to have their way unopposed? How can Christians complain about the dreadful state of this country when they won’t even put forth the effort to get off their butts and get out and vote! As a writer, I was moved to grab my guitar and within 15 minutes “Get Out and Vote” was written. It wasn’t like I sat down and thought, “Oh, I’m going to write a song about this.” It was literally forced upon me. I can’t really take any credit for the song except for being there to catch it. |

I have felt compelled to enter the political arena at a time such as this to make my voice be heard and to stand up and stir up those who would be complacent about what's happening to our country and urge everyone, Christian or otherwise, to stand up and be counted and VOTE YOUR VALUES!
If you believe as I do, that this country was founded on Christian principles, founded on the Word of God in the Bible, then WE, THE PEOPLE, need to stand up, and as the majority in this country (according to polls over 80% of people declare that they believe in God) we need to make our voices heard that we will not stand for the disintegration in our society of anything moral or decent. We are being attacked on every side with attacks on the family unit, with the gay agenda and gay lifestyle being rammed down our throats, gay marriage and indoctrination of our young children as low as kindergarten age, teaching them that the gay lifestyle is "normal", adoption of young boys and girls by gay couples so they can bring them up as gays themselves, and on and on.... Read more on "The Gay Agenda" and my views on their "every man in the city" agenda... just like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. For more on my views of why America is facing the current social and economic crises, please read "All The Nations That Forget God... Psalm 9:17" and "Choose Life... Deut. 30:19". |
